ANCIENT SKY - s/t LP

"Consisting of two pairs of close childhood friends with intertwining musical pasts, the group features current and former members of DARKEST HOUR, CITY OF CATERPILLAR, MAJORITY RULE, GHASTLY CITY SLEEP, VERSE EN COMA and LITTLE GOLD, though they tread very different waters with ANCIENT SKY. Largely influenced by classic psychedelic rock, the band isn't afraid to visit bizarre and far-out worlds with unique sounds and structures that walk the line between fierce and subtle, and occasionally flirt with epic-ness, making for an interesting mix of heavy, hypnotic rock with plenty of hooks and Americana influences."
PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE.

$8.00
B-LINES - s/t 12"

"B-Lines follow-up their six song debut 7" with nine more short, sharp odes to awkwardness, alienation, and their hometown of Vancouver. Manic vocals atop perfectly simple and tuneful songs played with a frenzy that lands them in the sweet spot between hardcore and pop-punk. In keeping with their belief that LPs are for prog rock, it's all said and done before you'll have time to conceptualize your next snack." DERANGED / NOMINAL.

$10.00
BAD SPORTS - kings of the weekend LP

"BAD SPORTS were formed in 2007 in Denton, Texas and their debut full-length was released in 2009 on Douchemaster Records following a string of 7"s, and showed the band's songwriting mature into a more refined pop territory without losing their edge. Prolific to a fault, BAD SPORTS members currently also play in the HIGH TENSION WIRES, OBN IIIS, VIDEO, the live incarnation of Mind Spiders, WICCANS, and many more. "kings of the weekend", the band's debut for Dirtnap Records, picks up right where the last one left off, showing a penchant for highly developed pop songwriting skills mixed with the speedy garage-punk/pop sound of their first LP.
" DIRTNAP.

$10.00
BIRTH - s/t LP

"Devastatingly punishing debut here from Chicago dirtbags BIRTH! Bathed in the same filth as Brainbombs, Drunks With Guns, Flipper and Big Black; BIRTH take cro-magnon riffs and shred 'em to bits as the sky collapses around 'em and they're buried in a pile of smoldering barbed wire. Think heavy, sludgey as fuck, proto punk that sounds like the Electric Eeels covering the Stooges using Sabbath's gear if it were stolen from a scrap yard and made out of knives. Brutally harsh landscapes where beating the shit out of your instruments is therapy and masochism is fun. Ex Brain Handle. " DEAD BEAT.

$10.00
BRAIN TUMORS - s/t LP

"Minneapolis degenerates BRAIN TUMORS spit back with another angry ripper. Pure menacing HC barked over punishing barbaric thrash. Rippin' Guitar work all over this fucker hammering out some of the most raw and uncompromising music you'll ever hear. Mean music that's meant to hurt. And it does. If you dig shit like NEGATIVE APPROACH, GAUZE, LIP CREAM, or Clevo scums like, 9 Shocks Terror and The Inmates, this ones pretty much essential. Total face ripper all the way." DEAD BEAT.

THE CATALYST - swallow your teeth LP

"After seven long years, numerous mind-bending demos, eps, and splits, and a litany of tours criss-crossing the United States and Europe, Richmond, Virginia’s best kept secret THE CATALYST offer up their first full length album, Swallow Your Teeth, a noisy, mathy, spacey, heavy, feedback-soaked behemoth of sonic destruction. Still channeling a wide range of hardcore, punk, grunge, noise rock, and sludge influences and not afraid to show their love for NIRVANA, FUGAZI, SONIC YOUTH, THE JESUS LIZARD, BORN AGAINST and most of the AMPHETAMINE REPTILE back catalog, Swallow Your Teeth displays the band’s creative prowess and power fully matured and realized."
PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE.
$8.00

CREEM - s/t 12"

"This release marks the first 12" release from premier NYHC act CREEM. The band jumps light years ahead of the recording session that spawned a demo cassette and 7" single and creates a piece of music that is far and away its best material. Six originals and a cover of Boston/UK-influenced hardcore."
KATORGA WORKS.
$10.00

CR0SS - die forever LP

"Warmer Milks founder Ma Turner and visual artist R Clint Colburn formed CROSS in summer 2008 as a means for friends to express themselves both live and on tape through a total freedom of rock 'n' roll improvisation. Amidst a series of defining moments and wild/nomadic lifestyle choices, Turner & Colburn hit the road two weeks into being a band, going on a nationwide tour where the skeletons for "Die Forever" initially came to life. Upon returning home (Lexington, KY), the new CROSS formation further polished their sound (a range of subtly psychedelic styles, frantically varying from southern rock to death rock to glam, goth, and beyond), continued touring, and in the winter of 2011, recorded with Pete Townsend (Bonnie "Prince" Billy, King Kong) and Sean Sullivan (John Prine, Jack 'Cowboy' Clement, Dave Ferguson, Black Keys - engineer) at John Prine's Butcher Shoppe Studio in Nashville, TN. Their full-length "Die Forever" (following a self-titled/self-released double-cassette live album) is now available in a first edition of 500, with artwork by Lexington's own Robert Beatty of Hair Police/Three Legged Race."
SOPHOMORE LOUNGE.
$11.00

CURTAINS! - deep in night city LP

"Debut outsider manifesto here from Chicago night warriors CURTAINS!. 'Deep In Night City' is one eerie mind fuck. Held together by a rhythmic post punk (almost gothey) foundation, this sucker throbs and bobs with shambolic deathrock lucidity. A creepy, delirious landscape where wacked out sci-fi rhetoric, formaldehyde misanthropy and paranoid, clausterphobic dementia are all integral pieces of the puzzle. Creating eerie soundscapes for deranged punk mutants and twisted new wave vampires, CURTAINS! unsettlingly spews 12 crypttic cuts that'll leave your skull in ruins. If your into stuff like the Electric Eels, Chrome, the Birthday Party, Gun Club or 45 Grave, you'll be all over this fucker."
DEAD BEAT.
$10.00

DAYLIGHT ROBBERY / DEFECT DEFECT
/ FOREIGN OBJECTS - three way split LP

"This one-sided 12" is like three singles with no flipping! Defect Defect is old school punk featuring members of all your favorite PDX punk bands like The Observers, Autistic Youth, Artic Flowers, Clorox Girls, The Minds, etc. Daylight Robbery is a great Chicago band that sounds like a modern day X (Los Angeles) without the blues. Features ex-members of The Pedestrians. Foreign Objects should be familiar to those of you who have picked up past Dirt Cult Releases. Female fronted punk rock, like Kathlene Hannah fronting Black Flag."
DIRT CULT.

DEVOUR - s/t LP

"Raleigh, NC's Devour were born from the ashes of Cross Laws, but rather than simply picking up where that band left off, the remaining members expanded to a 5-piece and followed the long southern tradition of adding traces of metal into their hardcore. What emerged was a record that is remarkably dense and complex, recalling the very best of the mid-80s trend of hardcore bands "going metal;" think Corrosion of Conformity's "Animosity" LP, Final Conflict's "Ashes to Ashes" and Septic Death's "Need So Much Attention.""SORRY STATE RECORDS.

$8.00

FIST CITY - hunting you LP

"By fusing the agitated, post punk grit of bands like the Despertate Bicycles and the Raincoats with an acid soaked take on the Vaselines, Shop Assistants downer pop; 'Hunting You' shines through in it's doomy, pop-contaminated bliss. The spaced out vox give the tunes an eerie, almost goth-ey, vibe creating a nice washed out, claustrophobic back drop for the music. And intentional or not, it definitely sounds like FIST CITY have more than a few early 90's riot grrl records in their collective collections. But don't expect any pro-fem messages from the CITY. It's more in their music, as they channel the early 90's cling-clang of bands like Slant 6, Huggy Bear and Bikini Kill that echoes through their trebley, punk brandished scrawlings. Lotta great stuff coming out of Canada these days and FIST CITY are definitely at the top of the slop."DEAD BEAT.

$10.00

INSERVIBLES - s/t LP

"INSERVIBLES can be described as the soundtrack of the Mexican nightmare. Their deranged hybrid of negative hardcore with no-fi garage has been compared to NERORGASMO, RAW POWER, VOID or THE REATARDS."SHOGUN / LVEUM.

$10.00

INSUBORDINATES - s/t LP

From Rockin' Rochester U.S.A. comes this blast of rock and roll fury that blends early punk with the more furious elements of primitive psych / surf rock into an essential punk platter, complete with honkin' sax work and completely twisted liner notes courtesy of the Feral Kid crew. This record is almost OOP, so now is your chance, today is your day! COWABUNGA RECORDS.

$9.00

JOVONTAES - things are different here LP

"Jovontaes are Lexington, KY. They emerge from (and possibly define) my town's peculiar skate / kraut / nihil / garage axis, evoking the smell of stale Miller High Life and burning couches: stumbling match-grip surf rolls; howling, chorused-out guitar; droning Adderall haze; and a singer who makes Will Shatter sound like Scott Walker. Imagine Moolah playing at a beach party on the edge of the Kentucky River, big gray globs of unidentifiable garbage drifting silently past and the dense wet air becomes gridlocked with mosquitoes." -Trevor Tremaine (Hair Police)
$10.00

KYKLOOPPIEN SUKUPUUTTO
likana valikoimassanne LP

"Brand new 5-song 12" from this great Finnish HC band. The a-side, which runs at 45RPM, is some fierce, classic-sounding Finnish HC that would fit quite well next to the Kieltolaki LP on your turntable. The b-side drops the speed to 33RPM for two creepy-sounding dirges that get back to the Die Kreuzen-esque weirdness of their earlier records. A great record from this band, and awesome packaging too, including a multi-color, screen-printed, fold-out sleeve."
PRIMITIVE AIR RAID.

$8.00
LE FACE - isolation LP

"The elusive LE FACE are from a small suburban wasteland on the outskirts of the Los Angeles. LE FACE supposedly contains members of the Fault Lines and Mika Miko, but I can’t confirm, nor deny that. ‘Isolation’ contains 13 songs of what the band describes as “neo dada noise.” That’s not a far off description, but they definately have their roots firmly planted in punk rock. They take different aspects of the Urinals, Human Hands, Mentally Ill, Simply Saucer and the Electric Eels and put it through their own paranoid, unblanced filter. It’s nice to hear them deconstruct punk rock and spit it back out as their own psychotic, off kilter bastard child of rock n roll. Neo dada noise indeed." DEAD BEAT.

$10.00
LEATHERVEIN - s/t LP

"Tough as nails K-town hardcore punk mixed with the best elements of classic rock & NWOBHM bands, Judas Priest and AC/DC executed tight as fuck and with LOADS of guitarleads and solos that will make your jaws drop. Absolute greatness from these K-town youngsters. Features members of NO HOPE FOR THE KIDS, HJERTESTOP and ARRIGT ANTRÆK." HJERNESPIND.

$9.00
LOTUS FUCKER - s/t LP

"The sounds of cicadas against crashing ocean waves at sunset. The process of seeking an answer through distortion and finding it within yourself. Remember your Gauze, Terveet Kadet, Wretched, Shitlickers, LipCream, and Confuse records. Recorded in one take, "live-in-the-studio" at the legendary Barclay House." SPHC.

$10.00

MLU - s/t LP

"Get off your fucking pathetic ass right now and pick up this fucking KILLER new MLU record. It will absolutely melt that mind you wasted oh so long ago. Repetitive riffs and misanthropic vibes permeate this feedback drenched, art-damaged slab of heaviness... you can't help but bang your head full force to MLU's self-titled debut LP and by the time you finish the first side, your eardrums will be fried, just like the synapses in your brain already are. I only feel comfortable talking shit about you assholes because I consider myself one and the same. Suckers (like myself) for Twin Stumps, Rusted Shut, Homostupids, and Nihilism, have been warned." -Permanent.
ROTTED TOOTH RECORDINGS.

$9.00

MORALENS VAKTARE - s/t LP

"Frickin' A-Bomb dropped from the south side of Sweden. After a couplea pretty bad ass singles, MORALENS VAKTARE lose their kiddie shoes and check into the big leagues with this tough Rockin, back alley ripper. With their feet firmly planted in the Rock-ier side of Punk Rock, namely bands like the Real Kids, Gizmos and Heartbreakers; MORALENS VAKTARE's continue their guitar slinging, Riff-N-Roll onslaught. You can tell these fuckers've given ample turntable time to their old musty Kids, Hubble Bubble and The Pack records. As this scuzzy mid-fi, diamond in the rough is like a punk rock-snot rocket shot straight outta 1978. "
DEAD BEAT.

$9.00
NOMOS - notes from the acheron 12"

"Follow-up to their highly praised demo, NOMOS return with a one-side 12” with an etched B-side. Six new rippers influenced equally by early 80's rippers like Poison Idea, Void, and Antidote and early 90's hardcore such as Citizen's Arrest, No Comment, and Infest. Recorded by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios and featuring artwork and layout by Vincent Smith." DERANGED.

TENEMENT - blind wink LP

Well this LP took me totally by surprise... absolute weirdo music channeled into amazing songwriting, like the KINKS meets HUSKER DU. If there is a "next level" in 2012, TENEMENT is it! COWABUNGA RECORDS.

$10.00
UZI RASH - whyte rash time LP

"Left coast wack jobs UZI RASH continue to make some of the most unique and memorable music around. Sounding like a stripped down garage band diving head first into a bottle of cough syrup, UZI RASH blast irresistibly, unpredictive tunes from the outer viscera of the garage scene. It's all bottom heavy, gutted, swamp-fuzz slathered in their own shimmering, oddball charm that helps UZI RASH carve out there own little pantheon of coolness in wierdsville. Sloppy, shambolic cave man thud that'll sidle up nicely against your Cramps, Swell Maps, Cheater Slicks, and Pussy Galore records. A chaotic mess from start to finish." DEAD BEAT.

BRAIN TUMORS - s/t 7"

"7 incher debut from these Minneapolis freaks featuring six cuts of repulsive touch-n-go hardcore punk. Bright and jangled guitars onset the menacing headache while deranged vocals and roaring low-ends leave most squirming with one foot in the grave. Enough stench, hair and pus for the whole family brought to you by these four mutants. Four color screened covers round out this incredible package. 600 Pressed." $5.00
BURNING ITCH - skrewin' up my mind 7"

"Knoxville, TN, trio Burning Itch have only been at it for a minute yet already have a catalogue of solid intravenously connected KBD punk songs – so rock-hard it would make Fort Loudon look over its shoulder. Ian Lawrence, Mike Ellison, and Brad Fowler are heading down a dead end street full of gun-toting rednecks and 100 other bands trying to get their records heard. But just like there probably was a bash before Burnside fortified Knoxville, Burning Itch’s live show seems like an all-out-ready-to-the-end war." Three killers here. MEMETIC SOCIETY.

$5.00
CLEANSING WAVE - s/t 7"

"The newest 7" on PRGNT records comes from Worcester's Cleansing Wave. Early this year they did a split flexi with G.A.S.H. (Boston) and this picks up right where that left off. 6 raging songs of raw punk with reverb drenched vocals. Limited to 300, comes with a lyric sheet and poster." PRGNT.

$5.00
CONFRONT - the curtain of an intense attack 7"

"4 tracks of blazing Japanese HC from Mie City Japan. After almost 10 years of demos and compilation tracks, the first vinyl output from Confront. With a sound somewhere between older bands like Death Side and newer bands like Crude, this might as well have come out on Bloodsucker, or HG Fact in the late 90's. If that style is up your alley, this is essential. first press of 500 copies, split release with Not Very Nice Productions." GENERAL SPEECH.

EARTHMEN & STRANGERS / FAR CORNERS
split 7"

"Earthmen and Strangers features Ryan Rousseau from The Reatards, The Wongs, Destruction Unit, Tokyo Electron and probably about a million other amazing bands. Based in Phoenix, AZ, somehow everything they've done reminds me of driving down a two lane highway in the middle of the desert; desolate and creepy post-punk at it's finest. Far Corners is lo-fi, blow-out post punk that really gets your blood pumping." DIRT CULT.

Featuring current and former members of CREEM, Natural Law, and Pissed Jeans, Hounds of Hate plays unrepentantly straight edge hardcore in the vein of late 80s NYHC, particularly that of Sick of It All and Warzone with a production striving for a sound akin to the Free For All comp." KATORGA WORKS.

$5.00
HUNTED DOWN - life's womb 7"

"Debut EP from Syracuse ruffians, HUNTED DOWN. Perhaps the single greatest EP to come out of Syracuse since now-expired BLACK SS' first-offering, Video Disease plays host to six cuts of blistering hardcore fit to hospitalize the healthiest. Brutally honest, self-destructive, yet self-aware, HUNTED DOWN still manages to retain a certain moral aptitude so inherent in the Syracuse psyche then and now. What makes these Assault City soldiers different is their moral dilemma - like the scattered sentiments of a beaten and broken man, this sounds like good people playing bad music. It's hard to be positive, to be enlightening and wise, when everything and everyone around you has lost hope or shot dope. In the end, all you've got is yourself; so, make the best of it and build yourself into a monumental force that will alter the course of history or succumb to... life's womb."
VIDEO DISEASE.

$5.00
JUST URBAIN - everybody loves you 7"

"This is the second Just Urbain 7" from 1978, originally limited to just 200 copies. A little less "rock" than a lot of classic Aussie punk, Just Urbain have an absolutely brutal guitar sound that's almost industrial in its drive... it sounds more like a circular saw than a musical instrument, and when you combine that with the primitive bashing of the vocals and rhythm section you get some pretty darn exemplary KBD punk. Killer!" 540 RECORDS.

$5.00

MANIPULATION - 2 7"

"After a crushing debut EP on Fashionable Idiots, Chicago's Manipulation (who feature members of Chronic Seizure, Pedestrians, Civic Progress, and other notables) return with an even darker, more twisted, and more compelling foray into the world of noisy hardcore, concentrating on fusing blistering riffs with epic leads and harsh, confrontational lyrics and vocals. These 5 songs will leave you as battered and charred as the building on the cover. Includes mp3 download and obi strip." FASHIONABLE IDIOTS.

$5.00

NEMESIS - dou-koku 7"

"Hailing from Fukuoka, Japan, Nemesis is a young band taking cues from UK hardcore punk but played with the speed and intensity of early Warhead / Nightmare, with an underlying Kyushu twist that brings homemates Kuro to mind. Aggressive vocals, gang choruses, powerful guitars and intense drumming: unmistakably Japanese, this band carries on in the tradition of the Selfish / Blood Sucker / Discrete Records roster. 4 tracks that go for the throat. Raw and pure energy. Split release with [Solar Funeral (USA),] Flower Of Carnage (Japan) and Ratbone (France)."

$4.50

NUKKEHAMMER - soviet rust belt EP

"Rebuild the fuckin wall and trade all your warheads for hard drugs, after two hyped demo tapes, Nukkehammer finally drops their first vinyl release. Similar style as the demos, slightly cleaned up sound but still so dark, so raw, so bombastic. Musically tighter and more energetic than the demos too. This is raw hardcore punk, crazed dual vocals, barbaric drums, ugly tones. Informed by Discharge, Anti-Cimex, Crow, Kaaos, etc, all the classics, yet not directly ripping off anyone, there are no gods so there is no worshipping. One of the most exciting bands currently in the scene, if you are into raw music, you need this." SPHC.

SCHOOL JERKS - control 7"

On their third EP, Ontario's SCHOOL JERKS puke up six songs of early 80's influenced hardcore-tinged punk rock in a convulsive 5 minutes. This record has everything you could ask for in a punk EP, and hasn't gone far from my turntable since I first spun it. Modern KBD classic! COWABUNGA RECORDS.

$4.00

SETE STAR SEPT / PENIS GEYSER - split 7"

"Sete Star Sept is literally the best grind band I've ever seen live. For being just bass and drums, their recordings here sound massive, dense, claustrophobic. Wild arrangements hint at chaos yet they're too musically tight to just be randomized. This is how grindcore should sound to me: the destruction of music/art/everything. True professionals. Penis Geyser's side was culled from tape recordings of this recent US tour. Again, the complete abandonment and destruction of musicality to express true feelings and energies. I love noisecore and these guys are reigning world champions." SPHC.

$5.00

SHOPPERS / PANZRAM - split 7"

"Southern Florida and Upstate New York collide in a varied snapshot of modern day East Coast noise punk. Ft. Myers, Florida's PANZRAM display their unique take on early ABC-No-Rio-era NYHC with two new dissonant, pummeling anthems. Backed with the blown-out pop stylings of Syracuse, NY's SHOPPERS whose musical reference call out to early no-wave, riot grrl and post-punk. A match made in heaven!" FEEBLE MINDS / IFB.

SIAMESE TWINS - in a box / stutter 7"

"Two songs of dream pop perfection from the women that have brought you the likes of Ampere, Libyans, and Confines. WYMYN'S PRYSYN - pay day 7"

"Wymyns Prysyn is the latest addition to the small, but growing discography of Scavenger of Death Records. The label specializes in documenting the raucous punk scene in Atlanta, and Wymyns Prysyn is one of the best bands from there—a scene which also includes Cops, the Black Lips, Carbonas, GG King, Ralph and the Bukkake Boys. I want to describe them as a noise punk band, but that might not do justice to the holy frenzy of feedback they bring to their new single, Pay Day. This is some of the best blown out rock ‘n’ roll around. Wymyns Prysyn channel plenty of the Killed by Death attitude and lo-fi production, but their new 7” is as tough and fun as Human Eye or the Puffy Areolas."
SCAVENGER OF DEATH.

$5.00

YADOKAI - second 7"

"Yadokai is back armed with a new drummer and an even bigger sound. Taking cues from classic Japanese and Italian HC but infusing it with the buzzsaw attack of Discharge they have truly become a hardcore monster. Piercing guitars, thunderous drums, and the screams and distorted yells of a singer in opposition to all forms of tyranny and hypocrisy. Their best and most consistent material to date, this it the standard to which bands of this ilk should be measured." VIDEO DISEASE.

$5.00

YAUTJA / ENABLER - split 7"

"This split 7" is absolutely crushing to say the least. Milwaulkee, WI's Enabler offer up two new songs on their side of the split which serve as a precurser to their latest LP entitled All Hail The Void. Enabler play a dark, punishing, and brutal style of hardcore influenced by bands such as Cursed, Rot In Hell, and His Hero Is Gone. The second band on the split is a band from Nashville, TN who formed in 2009. Yautja features members of Gnarwahl, Legion, and more recently Coliseum. Yautja play a great style of heavy and technical crust influenced metal. Their two songs on the split are dark, heavy and brutal as fuck. Yautja's influences are varied, but I get hints of Tragedy, From Ashes Rise, Rorschach, and Acme in the band's style." BURNT BRIDGES.

THE ELSINORES - demo CS

last few copies of the band's self-released demo. six tracks of bare bones garage pop that really sticks with you. total crooner punk jams.

$3.00

JOVONTAES - don't vex CS

"Don't Vex is tape number three from Lexington, Kentucky's Jovontaes. It strikes the middle-ground between the sludgefest of Masks of the Land and the cleaner, spacier Thief of Baghdad on DNT, and ultimately feels like the group has found their Zone. After a few years in Kraut-mode with releases coming at a steady clip, a tour or two and - I can only guess - hundreds of jams, the chemistry in the playing is palpable. They sound at ease on Don't Vex, finding a Can-like buoyancy for their mid-tempo pieces on side A and unleashing some previously unheard proto-punk energy on the flip. Best release to date from these guys." GNAR TAPES.

$5.00

MANIC SCUM - better left undead CS

"From the hills and polluted industrial wastelands of northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia comes the debut ep from Manic Scum. STOIC VIOLENCE - demo CS

"Debut demo from the newest southern California HC band. Mixing elements of classic USHC along the lines of NYHC and the Boston Crew but mixing in the manic and unhinged vocals of Die Kreuzen or Rorschach. The band pounds out 3 songs in under 4 minutes while the vocalist yells his head off about waiting for death and hating people who change what they are to what people want them to be. Real hardcore for real punks."

I couldn't resist nabbing a few of these tapes they made for tour, which feature brand new recordings that will probably become one of the best punk EPs to come out this year. Solid shit!
